Q: What does Afewee mean?

A: It is a Jamaican slang word meaning ‘It’s for us’

Q: What sports does Afewee offer?

A: Football & boxing

Q: Where are you based?

A: Brixton Recreation Centre (2 min walk from Brixton tube/rail station)

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: The exciting news is that Afewee boxing club are in the process of securing a new permanent gym within the Brixton Recreation Centre! This will allow us to expand our opening hours, offer memberships and run more classes!


Q: Can I just turn up to a class or do I need to book in advance?

Simply turn up, just let the reception know you are there for boxing, they will send you up and you sign in & pay all on the door

Q: What ages do you train?

A: We train all ages, class are broken down accordingly (See timetable for more info)

Q: What do I need to bring to a class?

A: Whether you’re an adult or child, you will need loose comfortable clothing to train in, appropriate trainers and a bottle of water. We provide all necessary equipment (gloves, ropes etc.)

Q: Do you train beginners?

A: Yes, most of our members are beginner level, train for fitness or to learn the technique of boxing. We will soon be starting several dedicated classes for beginner/intermediate level members!

Q: Do you offer competitive boxing?

A: Yes, we have a squad of junior/adult competitive boxers, who either compete already or are working towards competition. This is an option open to all; however a certain level of commitment and ability will of course need to be shown first!

Q: Do you offer personal training?

A: This is not something we currently offer, however once we are permanently set up we will have qualified personal trainers on site ready to offer this
