Afewee Training Centre is a community-run sports charity specialising in football and boxing, based in Brixton, south west London.

Afewee is Jamaican patois meaning ‘It’s for us’. The name conveys the strong community ethos of the charity.

Afewee Boxing Club

We run boxing lessons for all ages, offering competitive & recreational classes. We believe respect, hard work & commitment are keys to success and this is felt by our healthy club spirit. All abilities and fitness levels are welcome!

Afewee Football Academy

Our football academy is well-known for helping young athletes realise their dreams of becoming professional. We work to breakdown barriers and overcome injustices that obstruct ambitions of young people, in football and beyond. Afewee and its athletes thrive on success and have achieved far more than was ever expected.

Find out why our athletes love training with us …

No Hunger in Paradise

Mike Calvin, award-winning sports journalist, shadowed Afewee for over a year for his new book, No Hunger In Paradise – a study of youth football in Britain from grassroots to elite academies. Find out more in this short film made at Brixton Rec and featuring Afewee founder Steadman Scott.
